Seahouses Festival Programme Announced
The Seahouses Festival line-up is complete and we invite you to a full two-day programme of superb music, plus activities and entertainment for all ages. The festival is free of charge and would have never happened without a great deal of support and sponsorship, with thanks to our main sponsor Tait Farrier Graham, the Co-operative and Hadrian Trust.
We have carefully put together a varied selection of outstanding music for your enjoyment. Many of the performers are based in Northumberland but you will also hear an interesting mix of international sounds. There is a good representation of Americana in the programme this year and we have terrific performers covering a wide range of styles, from danceable pop and indie folk, through to 1930s’ swing jazz.
This superb musical line-up includes: My Darling Clementine, Rob Clements, The Fireflies, Watchers, The Toy Hearts, Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell, Ramon Goose, Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra, The Coopers, Dan Walsh, Lilliput, Jeff & Jill Sutheran, Malcolm Bennett & friends, The Cornshed Sisters, The Seahouses Middle School Band and Performing Men. The music stages begin at 12 noon and run until around 6pm.
Our theme for this year is ‘heroes’ and some of the weekend’s activities will be exploring famously heroic episodes, such as the Grace Darling story, as well as uncovering some unsung heroes. You can also contribute to the theme by nominating your own personal hero(ine) and adding them to the festival’s ‘Wall Of Heroes’.
There will be a skate park with pro demonstrations, a break-dancing performance and workshop, family art & craft activities, and plenty of other surprises. The popular festival market runs across the weekend, with a range of arts, crafts and other interesting items.
