Welcome to the Seahouses Festival website.
The
Seahouses Festival
began in 1999 and has evolved
into an exciting, multi-faceted, programme of
entertainment and
events,
based in several different parts of this
bustling harbour town.
Set within the spectacular
Northumberland coastal landscape, Seahouses is
nowadays famous as the departure point for boats
to the Farne Islands nature reserve, and as a
sea-activity centre.
Spectators can view events on the
natural amphitheatre of Harbour Hill against the
backdrop of the colourful harbour and the
Islands -
one of the
most unique and attractive Festival stages
anywhere in the UK!
This year’s Festival
celebrates the natural
environment of our area - the beautiful North
Northumberland coastline, wildlife and maritime
heritage.
Community groups, artists and historians work with the local people throughout the year on a variety of projects and
events which culminate in the festival weekend.
There are a wide range of events
and performers – with music, dance, food,
children’s events, workshops, talks, art and
film– it all makes for an entertaining,
educational and action-packed weekend.
Most of the Festival programme is free, although some of the events do have a small cover charge. Parking is
available, and there’s a wide variety of accommodation to suit all budgets. Treat yourself to a weekend at Seahouses Festival, and we’ll look forward to welcoming you to our lovely village by the sea.
