Welcome to the Seahouses Festival website. Seahouses Festival is an exciting annual community event, which runs over the third weekend in June. It has evolved over the years into an exciting multi faceted programme of events, based in several different parts of the village – including what is probably the most attractive Festival stage anywhere in the UK!Spectators can sit on Harbour Hill, looking to the stage, and beyond to the backdrop of the bustling, colourful harbour and the Farne Islands. Come and see it for yourself.
The Festival celebrates the heritage of our community, focusing on industrial heritage; spiritual and cultural heritage and the heritage of the natural landscape - our beautiful North East coast line. Community groups, artists and historians work with the local people throughout the year on a variety of projects and events which culminate in the festival weekend.
Events include Craft Fair, Food Festival, children’s activities, films, storytellers, dance, street entertainers, film events, concerts, and of course musicians on the ‘main stage’ – it all makes for an exciting and action-packed weekend, whether you’re travelling from afar, as many of our Festival visitors do, or live around the corner.
Most of the Festival programme is free, although some of the events do have a small cover charge. Parking is plentiful, and there’s a wide variety of accommodation to suit all budgets. Treat yourself to a weekend at Seahouses Festival, and we’ll look forward to welcoming you to our lovely village by the sea.
